The useful test is not whether the buildings are close together. It is whether the plan gives each building the time the operator already prints, and a day of its own when that time is most of a family afternoon.
The signal: one address can hide three visits
The City of Arts and Sciences FAQ, opened on 5 October 2026, says a visit to the museum may take an average of 3 hours and the Oceanogràfic approximately 4 hours. A Hemisfèric session generally lasts about 45–50 minutes, and that ticket is for one session. The same page says the whole complex can be done in a single day, and then recommends two or three days for a more relaxed visit. Its own split is one day at the Oceanogràfic, and another day for the Museu de les Ciències and the Hemisfèric.
Visit Valencia’s Oceanogràfic page, opened the same day, says three to four hours, or longer if you add a dolphin presentation of about one hour. A generated line such as “morning at the City of Arts and Sciences, afternoon in the old town” has not become a plan until it names which building, and which of those hours it is using.
What the family loses when the complex stays one line
The failure is a ruined afternoon, not a missed photograph. Four hours in the aquarium, then a museum, then a film, is the schedule the operator says is possible and also the one it asks you not to rush. Children under 12 must be with an adult. Outside food is not allowed in the Oceanogràfic. The ticket office closes one hour before closing. Tickets are not refundable. A date can be changed only if you ask before the visit date.
There is a second trap. The Oceanogràfic FAQ says you select a session and cannot enter before that time. The complex FAQ says you may enter the Oceanogràfic at any time while it is open. A plan that ignores both sentences will not tell the family which rule they bought.
Use the building test before the day goes on the plan
Write these three lines next to the complex name. If any line is blank, the day is still a suggestion.
Three lines the day card owes you
- Which building: Oceanogràfic, Museu de les Ciències, or one Hemisfèric session. “The City of Arts and Sciences” is the site, not the visit.
- Which duration you are using: about 4 hours for the aquarium on the complex FAQ, or 3 to 4 hours plus an optional hour-long dolphin presentation on the Visit Valencia page; about 3 hours for the museum; about 45–50 minutes for one Hemisfèric film. Do not add those numbers together and call it a morning.
- Which day is left free: the operator’s relaxed plan puts the aquarium on one day and the museum with the Hemisfèric on another. If the second building has no day, delete it. Then copy the entry rule from the ticket, because the two official pages do not say the same thing.
Where Alfred fits
Alfred starts from a travelling profile. On web Lets Go, Holiday takes an origin, a destination, dates, a budget step and a day pace, then Plan my trip queues generation. When those fields are set, a bar labelled Estimated costs (flights and hotels) can show a rounded median of flight-and-hotel packages. That figure is a median, not the price of an aquarium ticket, and it is hidden when no median comes back. The itinerary can be viewed, edited and shared when its status is ACTIVE. That is the right place to keep the three lines above, because a chat answer disappears.
Alfred does not look up a live Oceanogràfic session while it writes the day. Book opens a partner checkout. It does not prove that a venue ticket exists. Valencia is not one of the destination guides in the signed-in app, so a guide page will not fill this gap. The building lines still have to be checked against the operator pages and written onto the day.
Practical next step
Take the generated complex day and fill in the three lines. If the aquarium and the museum are on the same date, move the museum. Keep the entry rule that is printed on the ticket you actually hold. Then put the revised days, including a centre fallback if the session is gone, into an editable plan the group can share.
