Discovery is moving faster than family execution

Skift reported Adobe analysis of more than 8 million U.S. travel-site visits, with AI-source traffic up 194% year over year in May. The same visible report described longer visits, lower bounce and higher engagement. PhocusWire reported generative AI reaching 33% usage for trip research, while many travellers said they would book inside an AI platform or let an assistant handle flight and hotel bookings.

These are independent publisher reports about the wider travel market, not evidence that Alfred ranks, is cited, or converts. They do point to a practical traveller problem: an attractive answer can arrive before a family has checked the details that make the route survivable.

Run the last-mile test before trusting the plan

Ask what happens after the inspiration: who carries bags, how long the transfer really takes, whether the first day is too ambitious, and which stop is removed when weather or energy changes. The plan should show a base, route clusters, arrival and departure logic, family constraints, an editable sequence, and trade-offs rather than pretending every suggestion is equally feasible.

  • Constraint: record ages, mobility, luggage, budget and fixed arrival or departure times.
  • Route: group places by corridor and protect the arrival and departure buffers.
  • Alternative: name the first stop to remove, not just a vague rainy-day promise.
  • Confirmation: recheck operators, times, availability and terms at the live booking boundary.

What Alfred should own
